1975                

Lived and painted in Southern Italy


1976                 

Joined Gerry Cottle’s Circus as Goffeee the Clown

BBC Seaside Special

1977                

Toured village halls and regular Saturday shows at Dingwalls Camden Lock, London with Sasso, Turkey Sandwich and Wild Ruby.


1978-80                

The Great Goffeee & Sasso Clown show featuring Sir Henry Egg (cockerel) Mr Bun (white rabbit) and Cabbage the Wonder Dog toured London Children’s theatres, village halls in the Isle of Wight Welsh Border and West Country, and many festivals (including Elephant Fayre and Glastonbury) – I have performed at Glastonbury on a regular basis ever since.

1981-82                

Moved to Wales, set up smallholding and studios, continued national touring.
Regular summer season on Tenby Beach – clown shows and Punch & Judy
.


1983                

Goffee and Day Horsedrawn Circus Tour of Yorkshire

1984 April 1st. Founded first National New
Circus Convention and continued to organise for the next ten
years.

Founded Circus Dda. Toured Wales and the
Welsh Borders with “Taliesen” -
Britain’s first travelling and tented New Circus Show.

1985-88

The Great Goffeee Clown Shows – tightrope, sousaphone, circus skills, COMEDY and a goose.

Toured all major British Children’s Festivals and toured to Israel, Holland and France.

 


1988-94      

The Great Goffeee Clown Shows

Arts Play Umbrella UK Tours and Solo tours from Shetland to Lands Ends.

Organised Theatre and New Circus Masterclasses.

I have continued performing as a clown ever since but in 1989 a new interest emerged, that of Fire and Elemental Theatre.

“Bordertown” – multi-media community production Monmouth, S. Wales.Built and manned fiery funeral Barge of
Henry V and co built large dragon fire sculpture.

 


1990

“Dark Castle” St Donat’s Castle, S. Wales.

- Masterclass with Boris Howarth

- Multi location theatre – wrote and performed “The Butler’s Story”

 


1991

“The Whale” Shetland, Scotland - directed community fire theatre and built Whale fire sculpture. (10 x 6 metres).

Torchlight procession 1992 “Burn the Sun, Light the Moon”, Hay-on-Wye – founded and directed Hay-on-Fire. Torchlight procession and spectacular fire theatre, massed fire performers, giant puppets, fire labyrinths, wicker giants, fire sculptures on
land and water, fireworks, traction engine, horses, music and drama.
